It helps in the digestion of fat and high protein meal composition. Recent studies, however, have focused the interest of the scientific community in the use of Bromelain as a dietary supplement for the treatment of sports injuries (particularly sprains). Bromelain as the mechanism of action is proposed to modify the inflammatory response through both prostaglandin production inhibition that promote inflammation, and through the success of production of prostaglandins with anti-inflammatory properties.
To enhance the action may be co-administered with curcumin (turmeric), which is why many doctors suggest taking both preparations simultaneously. The Bromelain appears to help the absorption of curcumin, which is the active ingredient of Turmeric.
To ensure the effectiveness of the product required specific enzyme activity levels, amounting to 2000 GDU (gelatin-dissolving units) per gram. For this reason it should be used to ensure the products listed above enzyme activity levels, such as Bromelain the Lamberts.
