Taurine is a sulfur amino acid which is found in large quantities in the body. Plays several roles in the normal functioning of the brain, heart, gallbladder, eyes and vasculature.
It has anti-hypertensive properties, helps to normalize the contractions of the heart, in the formation of bile and the effective elimination of and also prevent the formation of cholesterol gallstones in the gallbladder. Furthermore they have anticonvulsant and sedative properties and protects the eyes from various toxic effects.
